Sony Xperia 1 II Review

Sony Xperia 1 II Camera

There has never been a smartphone camera that can capture shots like the Xperia 1 II because it was co-developed with the engineers behind the latest Alpha 9 series cameras renowned for its industry-leading autofocus technology. The phone has four back cameras and a single front camera.

The phone features Eye Autofocus which works on both animals and humans. There is an interface re-designed with new manual controls complemented with the hardware shutter button and RAW support, all to meet the demand of the professional photographers.

There is an outstanding ZEISS quality in this Xperia to exquisite rendering and contrast by reducing reflections. This phone can capture hundreds of moments in seconds with up to 20 fps continuous burst shooting, complete with autofocus and auto-exposure.

There is a Dual Photo Diode sensor that delivers spectacularly accurate and fasts focusing on an autofocus system. This features a total of 247 phase-detection AF points covering nearly 70% of the sensor. AF acquisition is achieved in just 0.03 seconds.

This phone is a perfect companion for Sony’s Alpha cameras. We can use this phone as a remote display and control settings and photos wirelessly with the Imaging Edge mobile app.

This phone has 21:9 CinemaWide 6.5 inches, 4K HDR OLED display. With this, we can enjoy movies as the creators intended and experience a cinematic aspect ratio. The display of the phone is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 6.

There is Dolby Atmos that gives viewing experience without compromise and the new Motion blur reduction technology reduces the in-between frame lag for clearer image quality.

Processor and Performance

This phone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. This processor empowers you to game, cross-task, capture, and connects like never thought possible with staggering multi-gigabit speeds and improved performance from a 25% faster CPU and GPU than on the previous model.

Sony’s phone designs have always been unique which I appreciate quite a lot. The phone has a squared-off flat display, back, and sides. Above the power button on the right side of the phone, there are the standard volume rockers but this power button is also a fingerprint reader.

Below the power button, there is a shutter button for the camera, which is nice to see. On the left side of the phone, there is excluding SIM card/ microSD card slot. Apparently, the design of this phone is super minimalist but still stylish.

This phone has a powerful 4000 mAh battery with 21W fast charging. With 4000mAh battery you can have enough power to last through the day and with 21W fast charging, we can charge up to 50% in just 30 minutes.

There is also 15W fast wireless charging technology.
