Huawei Mate 40 Pro has got distinctive looks, larger, pill-shaped punch hole in the front camera and circular rear camera bump on the back. The left side is bare, with the red power button and volume rocker on the right. There are a speaker, an IR blaster and a microphone on the top. Huawei Mate 40 Pro runs on Andriod 10 and powered by the 4400mAh battery. The UI is empowered on EMUI 11 based on Android 10. There are no google play services, but the phone has its own Huawei’s AppGallery for an app store, with more options. Homescreen contains all installed and system apps, and also there’s a toggle in the settings menu to choose between standard layout or app drawer. 

The smartphone has been powered with Kirin 9000 chip, first 5nm chipset with a built-in 5G modem. In terms of performance, it can trounce its performance against its CPU counterparts. The chipset has more than 15 billion transistors packed, capable of multi-tasking, processing massive amounts of data and powering instantly-responsive AI computing with ease. 

Huawei Mate 40 Pro has an octa-core 5nm Kirin processor, among which one Cortex-A77 function at 3.13 GHz speed, three Cortex-A77 at 2.54GHz and four Cortex-A55 at 2.05 GHz speed. 

The GPU used is Mali-G78 MP24, improving the gaming performance integrating with 8GB RAM and 512GB internal storage, alongside longer battery life. The 24-core Mali-G78 GPU delivers impressive image processing capabilities for a heightened gaming experience with the sparkling 3D audio from the dual speakers.

Neural Processing units in the phone consisting of two big cores and a tiny core push AI processing to new heights, along with the wide range of functions; camera gestures, gesture controls and AI-assisted object recognition.
